OK, yet another indicator of how fucked up this country is: A Hepatitis C patient in desperate need of a liver transplant was denied, and will likely die within days, because of marijuana use. The kicker? Marijuana use has no potential for causing a negative outcome regarding the transplant. And...wait for it...it was medical marijuana, prescribed by a doctor -- but evidently using this prescription is indicative of "an addictive personality."

That kind of thing was why I was annoyed by Dr. Drew' insinuation in Celebrity Rehab's that even using prescription drugs for their prescribed use was still a problem.
I blame the Puritans.
So... we can't pop any pills, even as prescribed, or if we someday need a transplant we'll be screwed?
I suppose it's just because it's marijuana, not generalized to all prescriptions. Either way it's ridiculous.
I think med marijuana is still illegal under federal laws, but don't quote me on it.
